Apple has announced limited edition (PRODUCT) RED iPhones which feature a deep crimson matt aluminium finish and the same specs as the regular iPhone line-up.
CEO Tim Cook said: “Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
“The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”
The (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available to order from 3.01pm on Friday March 24.
The red iPhone 7 – which features the same 4.7 inch display and 12MP camera as the normal model – only comes in 128GB and 256GB options.
Pricing starts at £699 for the 128GB option, with the top-end unit costing £799.
The iPhone 7 Plus – with its larger 5.5 inch display and double 12MP camera unit – comes in the same storage options.
The 128GB model is priced at £819, with the 256GB option coming in at £919.
The new iPhones join Apple’s existing (PRODUCT) RED offering, which includes includes the complete iPod range, Beats Solo 3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones, Beats Pill+ Portable Speaker, the iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
These items are available all year-round on the Apple Store.
New iPad release dateAlong with the new red iPhones, Apple also announced an update to its iPad line-ups, which will be available to order from 3.01pm on Friday March 24.
The new iPad replaces the iPad Air 2 and boasts an updated A9 processor and a lowered price point.
The 32GB Wi-Fi model costs £339, with the Wi-Fi+Cellular option priced at £469.
The 128GB Wi-Fi model will set customers back £429, with the Wi-Fi+Cellular option costing £559.
The new models come in silver, gold and space grey finishes.
