The clothing retailer confirmed customers can get a full refund for a pair of novelty children's cat leggings.
It is feared the item poses a choking hazard after it was discovered that a bow attachment could become detached.
The item – sold in UK stores from November 8 2016 to February 22 2017 – has the item number 86503.
A spokesman for Primark said: "Through our ongoing due diligence programme it has come to our attention that the Novelty Cat Legging detailed above does not meet the Primark usual high standards for safety.
"We have found a potential issue with the security of the bow attachment within the product that may become detached and present a potential choking hazard. With the safety of our customers at the forefront of our minds we are inviting you to return this item for a full refund.
"If you have purchased this product then please return it to any Primark store where you will be offered a full refund. You will not be required to provide proof of purchase."
Earlier this year, Primark was forced to pull a T-shirt over allegations it was racist.
The offending item was branded with the phrase "eeny meenie miny moe" and a picture of a bloodied baseball bat – a reference to popular TV show The Walking Dead.
A Methodist minister complained, saying the original rhyme includes the word "n*****".
