WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar Could Return To UFC

Brock Lesnar

Lesnar is currently serving a one-year suspension ban for his failed drug tests before and after his UFC 200 bout with Mark Hunt.

Both tests discovered traces of the banned anti-estrogen agent, Hydroxy-Clomiphene - a substance which can be used to raise testosterone levels after a cycle of anabolic steroids.

Lesnar's period of ineligibility began last July, meaning he is free to return to action in six months time.

However, UFC president Dana White has already cast doubt on a return to the Octagon for the WWE superstar.

Lesnar is one of the biggest draws in UFC history, second only to Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey.

However, with Rousey's star power on the slide following her UFC 207 loss to Amanda Nunes, the UFC could be very well be tempted to call upon the 39-year-old in the summer.

UFC legend Bas Rutten agrees with that notion and believes the promotion's new owners will

"I think Brock Lesnar will be back as well, I truly believe that," Rutten said during an appearance on Submission Radio.

Rutten explained his belief by saying: "If Rousey decides to hang it up, they got only Conor McGregor.

"Conor is not going to fight for a very long time anymore, I think this guy needs to be in movies also.

"I think he will probably be a really good actor as well. So I think probably he's going to take that route.

"But I don't know, he has a very competitive spirit in him, so hopefully we see him fight a few more years. But what if not? What if he gets injured? Boom.

"I mean, there's nothing compared to it. You look at Jon Jones who is a phenomenal athlete, who right away also you still have to wait until he can come back. He draws good pay-per-view numbers but not what McGregor and Rousey are doing.

"They need another person. And the only other person that’s there, is Brock Lesnar. And that’s why I’m thinking they’ll go after him."
