The luxury sports car, which has a top speed of 209mph, is also the most powerful Bentley yet.
The Bentley Continental Supersports’ 12 cylinder, six-litre, twin-turbocharged engine can go from zero to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds.
While its soft-top sister car goes from 0 to 60mph in 3.7 seconds, and has a top speed of 205mph, making it the world’s fastest four-seat convertible.
Bentley’s famous fans include former BHS boss Sir Philip Green, Geordie Shore’s Gaz Beadle and Manchester City footballer Raheem Sterling – and the manufacturers say the new car’s engine is as agile as it is powerful.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “The Supersports name is legendary at Bentley.
“From the very first Supersports of the 1920s, to the Continental Supersports of 2009 – and now with the third iteration of this iconic model – it is a name which excites, impassions and thrills.
“Only Bentley could create a car which blends immense performance and unrivalled luxury in this way.” Details of the Continental Supersports’ spec were unveiled to the public for the first time last night (January 5) – and the car will make its official debut in Detroit, USA, on Sunday morning.
