There is nothing as cosy as hot cider on a nippy afternoon. Delicious and comforting, this drink is equally loved by kids and adults.
YOU NEED:
- 3.8 litres pasteurised apple juice
-500ml pomegranate juice
-4 tbsp maple syrup
-2 cinnamon sticks
-6 whole cloves, plus extra to garnish (optional)
-½ vanilla pod
-3 star anise
-4 oranges, peeled and zest reserved
-2 sliced oranges to garnish (optional)
METHOD:
- In a large pan, combine the apple juice, pomegranate juice and maple syrup. Then add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla, star anise and orange zest. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes and then strain.
- Serve warm and, if desired, garnish with clove-studded orange slices.
