Christmas is just few days away. Don't forget buy a Christmas tree and decorate it well enough with lighting.
Here are he tricks:
-Use around 12 boxes of 50-light strands for a six foot tree, and 20 if it’s an eight-footer
- Make sure the wattages of all the lights are the same – this prevents power surges, and ensures the bulbs last longer
- Start at the top – if you run out, it can be camouflaged in the thickness at the bottom of your tree
- Make a zigzag pattern, keeping the same distance between each ‘layer’ of lights
- Wrap the lights around the branches, then put the branch through the loop – this will ensure the lights stay in place
- Don’t connect more than three sets of lights – or you risk the tree overheating and going up in flames
- Plug your lights in after you’re done, not before, or the lights could become too hot to touch
- If you have an artificial tree, take it apart first to make your life easier
- Press lights into branches if need be – the beauty of artificial trees are that they’re mouldable
- Once you’re done, take a step back and look at it with your eyes crossed, or squint until it looks blurry. Wherever you see dark sections, rearrange the lights as necessary
