Virgin Media has announced a major update for its TiVo packages.

With a major price rise coming into affect it's not been a great time for customers of Virgin Media.

The internet and TV provider has just hiked the cost of its service by around £3.50 per month, claiming the rise is to make the Virgin Media experience "bigger and better than ever before".

An invite has just been sent out to the media simply saying "Be there".

Rumours have been rife that Virgin Media could be about to join the 4K revolution with a new TiVo box and this special event looks set to reveal all.

To add to the mystery, Virgin Media recently tweeted a picture of a new device which could be its answer to Sky.

Not much is known about the new box but in the tweet Virgin revealed: "Sneak Preview: Say hello to our new Virgin TV V6 box, powered by TiVo. More to come soon. #VirginV6"

With 4K TVs tumbling in price and Sky, Netflix, Amazon and BT Sport now broadcasting in this Ultra HD format Virgin won't want to be left behind.

And their current TiVo box is due a serious upgrade, especially with Sky now offering its state-of-the-art Sky Q service at a lower price.

Sky Q brings 4K content, touch remote and wireless multi-room to homes and is currently the best TV service on the market.

However, with Virgin still offering some of the fastest internet speeds in the UK, a new TiVo could convince many to stick with the company.

The big event will take place on November 30th.
