Bonfire Night is on the way. This night is obviously an awesome night, but if you don't take some extra care it can awful too.
Insurance firms saw the number of fire related claims double over the same weekend last year.
People are also five times more likely to get injured in a fire related incident in November, according to home insurer Policy Expert.
Around one million households still hold a Bonfire Night party at home, although numbers have fallen sharply due to health and safety fears, it said.
Policy Expert's head of business operations Adam Powell said if you light a fire or set off fireworks keep them away from your house, or garden fencing, which could catch a spark.
He added: "Throwing petrol on a fire is dangerous and constitutes negligence if you try to claim on insurance.
Make sure your home is secure. Dark nights, loud noises and people going out are perfect conditions for burglars."
