Reasons You Should Stop Drink Fizzy Drinks

Fizzy Drinks

Fizzy drinks are always considered to be bad for your health.

Here are some reasons you should stop drinking fizzy pop right now:

1. It’s full of sugar

Just one can of cola contains 46g of the sweet stuff, while a regular-sized bottle is packing a whopping 16 teaspoons – both well over the recommended daily amount of 30g.

But recently researchers found a problem with the kind of sweetener in soft drinks – because it has a shocking effect on your penis.

A study, published in the Central European Journal of Urology, found an issue with the ingredient high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) – used in Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew and Sprite.

They found HFCS increased risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) due to the fact it raises cholesterol levels and damages the arteries in the penis.

2. It increases your risk of obesity and diabetes

Soda-guzzlers have an 80% increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

3. It messes with your brain

When adolescent rats were fed sugary drinks for one month they showed learning difficulties and bad memory skills.

Scientists also discovered swelling in the hippocampus – often associated with people who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

4. It can damage your DNA

Preservatives, like sodium benzaoate, found in your favourite fizzy drink can damage your DNA and lead to health issues like liver cirrhosis and Parkinson’s disease.

5. It damages your teeth and bones

Soda contains phosphoric acid which badly impairs the body’s ability to absorb calcium, which can lead to dental problems and osteoporosis.

6. It can lead to reproductive issues

Soda cans are coated with bisphenol-a (BPA) which can interfere with the body’s hormone-regulating endocrine system.

Such issues include premature puberty and reproductive abnormalities.
