Facebook has been cataloguing your memories since 2004.
And thanks to its "On This Day" feature , it'll flash up a happy photo from days gone by.
But what if the memory is of a time, place or person that you'd rather forget? If that's the case then having it splashed across the top of your news feed could lead to a jolt of unpleasantness.
No-one wants to be reminded of earlier times with an ex-partner . Or, in worse cases, a deceased friend or family member.
Thankfully, there's a way you can edit the feature to make sure this never happens - and it's really simple to do. Follow the video above or the bullet points below for a step-by-step guide.
Here's how to do it
- Sign in to Facebook, and head to the On This Day app (on the left-hand side)
- Click the "Preferences" button in the top right-hand corner of the banner.
- Click "Edit" next to either the People or Dates option on the Filters box.
- Add in any people or dates you don't want to be reminded of.
That's it - once you've made your selections and saved the preferences, you'll never be bothered again.
And while Facebook doesn't let you disable On This Day entirely, if you're sick of the feature it's easy to make it disappear.
Just block a period of time off using the date selector and run it from when you first joined the social network up to today's date.
