Last year Lonely Planet released the annual Best in Travel rankings, forecasting the top travel destinations for 2016.
Among the wanderlust-inducing spots where far-flung places like Latvia's old pine forests and Fiji's powder-white beaches.
But where are the hotspots for 2017? Holiday experts Travel Republic have looked into the most popular holiday searches for next year and have come up with some interesting results.
With the search terms that users were looking into online, they have developed a map of the top 20 most sought after destinations across the globe.
According to the data, Cuba came out as the most popular destination, closely followed by Greece and Mexico.
Spain, one of Brits' favourite holiday hotspots, came in fourth place, while Thailand claimed the fifth spot.
Here are the 20 holiday destinations everyone is dreaming of – so get booking now if you want to beat the crowds:
1. Cuba
From the salsa bars of Havana to the gleaming white beaches of Cayo Coco, Cuba is a vibrant and exciting travel destination.

2. Greece
Islands such as Santorini and Mykonos have become hugely popular in the last year and the destinations seem to be in demand for 2017 too.
