Tottenham 2-0 Manchester City: Pep Guardiola's 100% record in English football came into a nightmare

Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City has been failed to make 100% record in English football.

The Spaniard had won every match in his Premier League career to date, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men outclassed them on the day.

Aleksandar Kolarov turned the ball into his own net past Claudio Bravo after an excellent cross from England left-back Danny Rose to give Spurs the lead.

Dele Alli added a second late on in the first period as he swept home a delicate through ball from the impressive Son Heung-Min.

Claudio Bravo kept City in the game in the second half by saving an Erik Lamela penalty after Alli was recklessly hacked down from behind by Fernandinho.

Son and Lamela had fought over who should take the spot-kick beforehand and the Argentine duly missed.

It didn’t cause Spurs any problems in the end, though, with Hugo Lloris keeping efforts from both Kelechi Iheanacho and Sergio Aguero out in the second half.
