Sainsbury's has been unveiled plans to open an Argos branch inside every single one of their supermarkets.
Under plans put forward by Sainsbury's boss Mike Coupe, there will be an Argos mini-store or a click-and-collect point in every supermarket over the next few years.
It comes after Sainsbury's bought Argos's parent company, Home Retail Group, for £1.4bn.
The move could create up to 1,000 new jobs.
Bosses are now looking at ways the two consumer favourites can be joined together even further.
Mr Coupe, chief executive of Sainsbury's, said: "Over time, we envisage that there won't be a single Sainsbury's shop, with the exception of some very small convenience shops, where you won't either be able to see an Argos concession or be able to click-and-collect and pick up your item."
Sainsbury's operates more than 600 supermarkets and around 770 convenience stores.
The grocer plans to open Argos mini-branches and relocate existing Argos stores within its supermarket network as part of the tie-up.
The first whole Argos store to move into a Sainsbury's store took place in Oldham last month.
There are also 13 Argos mini-branches already inside Sainsbury's stores – this will rise to 30 in the coming months as the rollout continues.
Argos boss John Rogers said there will be an overall net increase of over 1,000 retail jobs as a result of the combination.
