After months of waiting and speculation Apple's new MacBook Pro has finally been unveiled.
Apple boss Tim Cook unleashed the US tech giant's flagship laptop on the world at a major event last night and this is the best laptop they have ever made.
With an updated design and new features there's plenty of reasons to be excited if you're a fan of the MacBook brand.
1. THE NEW TOUCH BAR:
The biggest new feature coming to the MacBook Pro is the Touch Bar.
This Retina-quality Multi-Touch panel sits across the the top of the keyboard and adapts to what's on the main display.
For example, the Touch Bar can show Tabs and Favourites in Safari, enable easy access to emoji in Messages, provide a simple way to edit images or scrub through videos in Photos and so much more.
The Touch Bar is compatible with all of Apple's sofware including Messages, Maps, Photos and Pages.
As well as working with Apple branded applications it will also bring easy access to features within third-party programmes including Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
2. IT'S THINNER AND LIGHTER:
Apple has been busy getting its new laptop into shape and the MacBook Pro is now thinner and lighter than its predecessors.
In fact, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is 17% thinner and 23% less volume than the previous generation, it's also a lot lighter.
Meanwhile the bigger 15-inch MacBook Pro is 14% thinner and 20% less volume than before, and weighing just four pounds, is nearly half a pound lighter than before.
Although the MacBook Pro isn't as portable as Apple's super-skinny MacBook, the new weight and size will certainly make a difference when this laptop is squeezed in your bag.
3. APPLE PAY & TOUCH ID:
The Touch Bar may help your productivity but there's something else it can do.
On the right of the bar is a Touch ID scanner which unlocks the device by the power of your fingerprint.
Not only does this give users quick access to the MacBook but also allows purchases to made via Apple Pay.
When shopping online, a simple touch of the scanner will automatically pay at the till meaning you'll never have to type in your credit card details again.
4. BETTER DISPLAY:
The Retina display has always been good but now it's got even better.
The new MacBook Pro features Apple's best ever screen which is 67% brighter than its older siblings.
Apple also says the new Retina display features 67% more contrast and this is the first Mac notebook display to support a wide colour gamut.
5. MORE POWER:
Apple hasn't just changed things on the outside as the new MacBook Pro includes some new brains.
Powering the 15-inch MacBook Pro is a quad-core intel Core i7 chip, coupled with 16GB of RAM, faster Radeon graphics performance and up to 2TB of storage.
Meanwhile, the cheaper 13-inch variation starts with a dual-core Intel i5 chip, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.
All models feature SSDs with sequential read speeds over 3GBps and Thunderbolt 3 which consolidates data transfer, charging and twice the video bandwidth in a single port — allowing users to drive a 5K display and power their MacBook Pro with a single cable.
The MacBook Pro is clearly the best laptop Apple has ever produced but before you get too excited you might want to check out the price.
The entry-level Pro, which doesn't include the Touch Bar, will cost £1,449.
If you want the new touch technology its going to cost you more with the 13-inch version of the Pro starting at £1,749.
This rises to a whopping £2,349 for the 15-inch Pro with Touch Bar.
If the price hasn't put you off you can pre-order the devices today with shipping starting in the next two to three weeks.
