Lucas Perez is confident Arsenal team-mate Mezut Ozil will not put him self forward in a return to Real Madrid.
Ozil has been in scintillating form for Arsenal so far this season with six goals to his name already - including a Champions League hat-trick in midweek against Ludogorets.
The Germany World Cup winner has been in talks with the Gunners over a new deal for a number of months - but that hasn't stopped speculation linking him with a move away.
The 28-year-old, who became Arsenal's record signing when he joined from Real Madrid in 2013 for £42.5million, has been linked with a return to the Bernabeu.
But Arsenal team-mate Perez, who arrived at the Emirates in the summer from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna, says Ozil is not interested in leaving the north London club.
"No, I don't think Ozil wants to return to Spain," he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. "You never know: Real Madrid is a big club – but so is Arsenal."
Ozil has won two FA Cups and the Community Shield in 127 appearances for Arsenal, in which he's scored 26 goals and assisted a further 44 across all competitions.
