Apple has been revealed that it is adding unlocked iPhone 7 phones in its product line.
SIM-free versions of the company's latest handsets are now available to buy in the United States from the Apple online store.
This follows the existing release of SIM-free devices in the UK, Canada and Australia.
The unlocked devices will work with any network in the country, meaning there's no need to sign up to an expensive contract with carriers.
Prices for the unlocked devices will start at $649 for the iPhone 7, and $769 for the larger iPhone 7 Plus.
The devices are available in the full range of colours and storage capacities announced by Apple last month at the iPhone 7 launch.
As of now, the unlocked devices seem to be few and far between, with Apple provided a delivery estimate of between three to four weeks for most models, which rises to six to eight weeks for the popular jet black version.
The iPhone 7 has been available to buy in the UK since September 16th.
The new smartphones will cost slightly more than their predecessors, starting at £599 for the iPhone 7 and £719 for the iPhone 7 Plus.
However Apple has changed the storage configurations, doubling the amount of the memory across the board to 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
So, the iPhone 7 will set you back £599 for 32GB, £699 for 128GB and £799 for 256GB.
Meanwhile the larger 5.5inch iPhone 7 Plus will set you back £719 for 32GB, £819 for 128GB and £919 for 256GB.
The new Jet Black finish will only be available in the 128GB and 256GB configurations.
Silver, Gold, Rose Gold and Black will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Apple has also launched its iPhone Upgrade Programme in the UK.
This lets customers upgrade to the latest smartphone every year, and pay for the new device in monthly instalments, starting from £33.45 a month.
