Shopers has been warned before buying any fizzy drinks as it could contain alcohol and explode.
More than 80,000 bottles of Rubicon Sparkling Mango soft drink are being recalled by manufacturers A G Barr plc as a precaution.
The reason for the recall is that yeast fermentation may have happened in some bottles. A Food Standards Agency spokeswoman confirmed this could potentially result in alcohol being present in the drinks.
A G Barr insisted fermentation is a natural process but did not rule out the possibility of alcohol being present.
A spokesman said: "Rubicon Sparkling Mango is a soft drink, not an alcoholic drink. The batches that we are recalling are affected by fermentation, which is a natural process.
"They are clearly not suitable for consumption.
"This is why we are advising consumers not to drink them and to contact our consumer care team."
The fermentation could also release gases which may cause the bottle to burst, according to a statement on the FSA website.
The presence of yeast has spoiled the products, making them unsuitable for human consumption. The affected drinks have 'best before' dates which end in February 2017 and March 2017 respectively, with the batch codes affected including 6149, 6150, 6176 and 6177.
All batches are 2 litres in size, according to the FSA statement, and no other flavours, or any other A G Barr products, are known to be affected.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products.
These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
If you have bought any of the above products do not drink them. Instead, follow the advice and guidelines given in the product recall statement.
