Twitter users now have longer tweet options

twitter

Twitter users will have a longer tweet option from September 19, according to reports.

It was reported in May that the social media platform planned to stop counting pictures and links as part of the 140-character limit, which allows for more words.

A link currently uses 23 characters. A picture uses 24.

The new rules are set to come into use on September 19, reports The Verge.

Polls, videos and GIFs will also no longer count towards the limit.
