Sea Salt Spray For Hair

Here is the sea salt spray recipe, which you can make at home and store for around 3-4 months as well.

You Will Need

  1. Epsom salts (2 tbsp)

  2. Aloe Vera gel (1 tsp)

  3. Himalayan or Sea Salt (½ tsp)

  5. Lavender or orange blossom or citrus essential oil (5 drops)

  6. Hair conditioner ½ tsp (avoid using it if you have naturally oily or thin hair)

  7. Optional 1 cup of hot chamomile tea or black tea for the base. If you want to lighten your hair color, use chamomile tea. For darker shades, consider using black tea. However, you need to refrigerate the tea before you heat it.

  8. Optional lemon juice (1 tsp)

  9. Optional Vodka or alcohol (1tsp) for light colored hair.

How To

  1. Find a spray bottle with a capacity of at least 10 ounces.

  2. Add the hot water (or tea) in the spray bottle.

  3. Add the sea salt, Epsom salts, Aloe Vera, conditioner (optional), essential oil (lavenderorange blossomcitrus) and lemon juice or vodka (optional).

  4. Shake the bottle well for around 2-5 minutes. Ensure that the Epsom salt and sea salt dissolve completely. If you are using lemon juice or a tea base, you need to refrigerate the mix.

  5. You can store the mix or use it immediately.

Using The Sea Salt Spray

Now that you know how to make sea salt spray at home, all you need to do is know how to use it.

If You Want Wavy Hair

If you wish to sport a wavy hairstyle, follow these simple tips

Begin by shampooing your hair and pat drying it with a towel. Ensure that your hair is damp.

Now spray the sea salt mix evenly all over your hair; make sure you cover the ends and the tips. For those lovely beach waves, crumple your hair with a towel as you spray the mix.

If You Have Dry Hair

If you have dry hair that lacks texture and appears lifeless at times, you might want to use the sea spray to give your hair a bit of volume and texture.

Spray the mix evenly on your hair and rumple it a bit using your fingertips.

Let the hair dry and use some conditioner in the sea spray mix to moisturize your hair.
