GMAIL is DOWN users can't access into their account

Gmail

Gmail is down across the EU and US. It also let its users down as they can't access into their account.

Independent website Downdetector is showing major problems across Britain and Twitter is full of users complaining about the issues.

One Gmail user wrote on social media: "Anyone else's @Gmail not working right now?"

While another added: "With #GmailDown I might have to actually talk to someone for a change."

The popular website has billions of users across the world and it's currently unclear what's causing the problems.

Posting on its online Apps Status dashboard, it confirmed: "We're investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.

"Based on reports, it affects only Google for Work Gmail users. The users are redirected to a page with 'Service not available, contact your administrator'."?

The US search firm has also provided a workaround that should solve the problem for users.

According to Google, disabling Gmail Service in Admin Console UI, saving the changes, enabling it once again – and saving the changes for a final time should restart the service.

Google first launched Gmail in April 2004.

As of February 2016, the free email service is the most widely-used provider across the globe, with more than one billion users.

According to estimates, a staggering 60 per cent of mid-sized companies in the United States were using Gmail.

Gmail also became the first application in the Google Play Store to top one billion installations on Android devices, back in May 2014.

Google has confirmed it is aware of the issues affecting Gmail users across the globe.
