Here is the complete recipe for Chocolate Brownies.
INGREDIENTS
- 250g butter, softened
- 300g muscovado sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 level tsp baking powder
- 200g chocolate, 70 per cent cocoa, melted
- 50g chocolate bits (I blitz chocolate buttons in a processor)
- 120g cocoa powder 50g ground almonds
METHODS
- Preheat the oven to 180C/gas mark 4. Grease and line a 30cm x 18cm brownie tray.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a food mixer until the sugar has dissolved.
- With the mixer running, add one egg at a time until combined, then add the baking powder and melted chocolate to the mixture, until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate bits, cocoa powder, ground almonds and a pinch of salt by hand.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the tray and bake for 20 minutes.
- Allow the brownies to cool before turning out and slicing into small squares.
