Apple drops Swipe to Unlock feature from iOS 10. Instead of that they have added new feature to unlock your iPhone.
One of the most recognisable features of the iPhone has been retired in the latest software update.
Users downloading iOS 10 today will find that they are no longer able to swipe across the screen to bring up the PIN to unlock their device.
Instead it happens by pressing the home button - which in the new iPhone 7 has become a pressure-sensitive haptic feedback button.
Alternatively, it happens through the phone's new "Rise to Wake" feature which uses sensors to detect when it's been picked up and to open automatically.
If you've got one of the newer iPhones, then the TouchID fingerprint scanner will let you get past the lockscreen.
Although Apple partially got rid of "Slide to Unlock" when it released iOS 7, the feature has been a staple since the first iPhone launched in 2007. It was created to avoid the problem of people accidentally unlocking phones in their pockets.
Part of the reason for dropping the feature is because future iPhones and iPads will probably have the same new home button as the iPhone 7 - which isn't really a button at all.
It's been re-engineered so it is now "force-senstive", meaning it works together with a new Taptic engine to be more responsive and create a better feel, giving users unique haptic feedback when you're using it in different ways.
It also means there aren't any gaps in the body which is what helps give the iPhone 7 its waterproof ability.
