Woman got so angry with EE so she chained herself to the shop

A loyal customer to EE, chained herself at its store during a peaceful protest.

It goes without saying that having no phone signal is pretty annoying.

So what do you do if your provider is so bad, that you’re actually losing money from it? Chain yourself to one of their shops, apparently.

One customer who had finally had enough of EE, sat in the doorway of their Bangor store and refused to move.

Diane Cartwright’s terms were simple, she would leave once they release her from her contract or gave her a new phone.

Staging the ‘peaceful protest’ from 2pm, Mrs Cartwright, who owns dog-grooming company, Porthma ‘DOG’, spaid she has lost up to a £1,000 from missed calls due to having intermittent signal.

Speaking to the Daily Post, she said: ‘I can’t afford another week without my phone working. All I need is the PAC code. They don’t want you to leave.’

Police were called to the scene but took no action as the incident was a ‘civil matter’. The protester left at 5.30pm when the shop closed.

Since then, EE have provided Mrs Cartwright with a PAC code to leave the provider.

A spokesperson said: ‘We understand Ms Cartwright experienced issues receiving phone signal, which our store staff attempted to resolve by upgrading her Orange account to EE, but after she still experienced issues she came to the decision to leave EE.’

‘It can take up to 48 hours for a PAC to be issued, as our store team advised on the day. We’ve confirmed the PAC was successfully received on Wednesday afternoon.’

‘Her account has now been cancelled at no extra cost. We are also speaking to her to arrange a small additional gesture of goodwill.’
