Paris loses its £650 MILLION in tourism

Paris

France's tourism industry is facing its extinction.

Its capital city of Paris loses almost £650 MILLION. Because of uncertain situation in France.

Whilst landmarks like the Louvre museum and the Eiffel Tower are usually flooded with tourists in the summer seasons, this year the have been noticeably scarcer.

The FCO - Foreign & Commonwealth Office - have all the information Brits need about the alerts across the world published on their website.

The Parisian tourism board announced earlier this week that the dip in tourism had caused a loss of around €750 million from January to June.

Tourism is particularly important to the country as it generates 7 percent of the country’s GDP.

Francois Navarro, managing director of Paris Region Tourist Board, told Travel + Leisure: “The challenge now will be to inform tourism professionals about the security situation.

“A return to normality is very important.”
