Microsoft would like to pay its user in a return to use their popular browser.
Microsoft is so concerned with getting people to use the Edge internet browser that it appears happy to pay customers to get it.
The tech giant has instituted a rewards system in the US that gives users points for the time they spend using the browser. These points can, in turn, be spent at the Microsoft Store or redeemed for credit on Amazon or at a Starbucks outlet.
According to the Guardian , Microsoft Rewards tracks your mouse movements to make sure you're actually using the browser. It also requires you to have Bing set as your default search engine.
The Edge browser comes bundled with Windows 10 - and is actually pretty decent. However, 58% of internet users still choose Google's Chrome as their default browser for moving about the web.
Sadly, Microsoft Rewards isn't available in the UK - and it doesn't look like the company has plans to introduce it.
