NETFLIX scammers are now targeting Apple iPhone users to take part in their scam.
If you happen to get an email from 'Apple' claiming you've spent £40 on Netflix don't panic – it's a scam!
The email, which has been sent out today, looks like an official message from Apple stating that an outstanding balance of £39.56 is owed for a Netflix subscripition.
The invoice also includes a link to manage or cancel the Netflix package.
However, if the user is duped into clicking on this link they are then scammed into handing over personal details via a fake website.
This is not the first time cyber criminals have tried to trick users into providing sensitive information with a scam iTunes receipt.
Last November Apple users were hit by a similar trick which claimed they had purchased a £42.99 TomTom sat nav app.
The fake email then tried to tempt users into clicking a fake cancellation form at the bottom of the email.
And earlier this year another message claimed that Apple customers owed £23.34 for songs purchased via Apple's Music site.
It's worth remembering that Apple will never ask you for these details and state on their website: "The iTunes Store will never ask you to provide personal information or sensitive account information (such as passwords or credit card numbers) via email.
"Email messages that contain attachments or links to non-Apple websites are from sources other than Apple, although they may appear to be from the iTunes Store.
"Most often, these attachments are malicious and should not be opened.
"You should never enter your Apple account information on any non-Apple website."
